SmartSoft have thirteen crash games in the catalogue we license. One of them has a specification. The other twelve have the heading.

That is not a figure of speech. Open their page for Balloon and you will find a section titled “Specifications:”, under which sit two sub-headings, “Game Features:” and “Graphics & Sound:”, with nothing under either of them. Cricket X is the same. CarX is the same. JetX 3, HelicopterX and TowerX do not carry the section at all.

Only JetX, the studio’s flagship, is documented. It is worth reading what the documentation says.

The one figure they publish is a range

JetX’s specification states a return to player of 96.2% to 98.9%.

Not a default with variants underneath. Not an average. A span 2.7 percentage points wide. At the top of that range the game keeps 1.1% of what is staked. At the bottom it keeps 3.8%, roughly three and a half times as much.

Every slot this site has read fits inside two thirds of a percentage point of every other slot. One SmartSoft game covers four times that span on its own.

We first took that range for something an operator sets before you arrive. It is not, and the game says so. The JetX client prints the same 96.2% to 98.9% in its own rules panel, and adds that the maximum is reached by betting on the lowest possible crash multiplier. The span describes how differently the game pays depending on where a player cashes out. There is no single figure to print because there is no single way to play.

Which makes the placement the fair criticism rather than the disclosure. The figure is real, and it is filed under “How do I get the winnings?”, four sections into a panel two menu levels down, where a reader looking for what the game costs will not go. The full reading is on our JetX page.

What the catalogue shows, and what it does not

The licensed catalogue lists 92 SmartSoft titles: 66 slots, 13 crash games, four instant win, three plinko, three mine games, and one each of shooting, dice and arcade.

Read that with care, because it is easy to over-read. Catalogue blanks are common across every studio and do not prove a studio withholds anything: Spaceman is blank in the same catalogue and states 95.50% on its own help panel. Fifty-three of these slots are blank too.

What is fair to say is narrower and still holds. Where this catalogue carries a return for a SmartSoft game, it is always a slot, never one of the thirteen crash games. The slot figures run from 96.02% to 97.6%, and every one of them is a single number rather than a range.

The thing their own game says out loud

For all of the above, SmartSoft do one thing better than almost anyone in this format, and it is buried in the JetX rules panel.

Under “How is the win calculated?”, the studio writes that “the speed or skill of the player does not influence, or increase the chances of winning, or define the outcome of the game.”

Consider the industry that has grown up around these games. Signals, bots, pattern readers, systems for interpreting the multiplier history that scrolls down the side of the screen. The studio that built the game has put in writing, inside the game, that none of it does anything. That is a more useful sentence than most of what gets written about crash games, and it comes from the company with the least commercial reason to write it.

The same panel states a minimum multiplier of 1.01x, and the specification adds that the explosion can occur at any multiplier, “even as early as 1.00x”, which is an instant loss. There is no minimum flight.

What they build

JetX launched in 2018 and the studio describes it as its flagship. The crash line since then reads like a list of things that can go up and then stop: a balloon, a cricket ball, a car, a helicopter, a tower, a bottle. Cricket X and CricketerX point at India; Balloon and CarX are general.

Cheesy Road Classic is in that list too, which puts SmartSoft in the same lane as InOut Games and their eight Chicken Road variants: a crossing game where you advance and choose when to stop.

The engineering claims on the JetX page are about reach rather than mechanics. Over a hundred currencies, more than thirty languages, moderated chat, network promotions and leaderboards. The game is sold to operators as a social object with a live chat and a visible feed of other people’s wins, and that is a design decision about pace as much as anything.

They show an MGA business-to-business licence, MGA/B2B/925/2021, and list two 2024 awards on the JetX page: Best Crash Game at Sigma Africa and Best Interactive Experience at Sigma Europe Malta.

A warning for anyone researching this studio

Every page on SmartSoft’s website carries a news teaser in its footer containing the phrase “an RTP of 97.05%”.

That figure belongs to Safari Simba, a five-payline slot built for the African market. It has nothing to do with any crash game. Search for a SmartSoft crash game’s RTP and this is what a search engine will show you, attached to a genuine studio URL, which is exactly the sort of thing that gets copied into a listing and repeated for years.

We nearly published it ourselves. It appears on the Balloon, Cricket X and CarX pages, which is to say on three pages of games it has nothing to do with. The only reliable figure on that site sits inside the JetX specification block, and it is a range.
